Making Money in the Digital Age

In today's world, a lot of people are struggling to make ends meet, but despite the stress we all deserve to indulge a little. This is a handy guilt-free guide that I put together to help you make a few bucks or score some freebies in your free time.

I've used all of these apps and services personally. To keep it short and sweet I provided names and referral codes in the beginning of each one. Brief descriptions and reviews are included if you're feeling a little more in-depth. :)

  • Rare Patient Voice (say Sara Wiley referred you) is a company that compensates patients and caregivers of various health problems in exchange for doing research surveys. I have been a member for a few years now and the pay-out is good. The surveys are fun and I enjoy helping. They are a great company to work with and I advise everyone who can to sign-up. Of all the things in this guide, this one pays the most!

  • Ibotta (referral code: vebbiht) pays you in giftcards or through paypal. I've earned a total of $91.51 using this app. You use it by scanning grocery receipts or shopping online through the app and they send you rebates. They also have fun bonuses so you can maximize your earnings and allow you to build a team that will increase your earnings even more. ONLY buy what you already planned to buy or new things you really want to try and invest in.
  • Fetch Rewards pays in giftcards. If you sign up using my code BU4UJ you will get 2,000 points and so will I. After that, if you take pictures of two receipts you can cashout for a $3 giftcard.
  • Pampers Rewards app gives you coins for scanning codes found in diaper and wipes packaging that you can redeem towards items and coupons. The NICU got me started on Pampers Rewards Codes. The rewards are small but it's better than nothing. Ask friends or family if they have any codes they aren't planning to use.

  • VeryDice (reference code: 910875) pays you in items or you can find giftcard options and raffles in the search function. I earned calligraphy pens and car seat straps that I used for my baby's swing, and a book I've been wanting. You earn rolls by sharing a reference code or you can do surveys, watch ads, and pursue special offers. There is also a daily wheel that will give you free rolls. In-app purchases cost more than buying prizes outright. If you are patient and have a lot of friends or some time to spare this is a good app. For the price of a $1 gift card I recommend saving about 135 rolls (maybe even a little less) and only rolling until you get the daily double. You maximize your earnings by saving your rolls.
  • KO Trivia pays in paypal cash, giftcards, and items. If you're good at trivia these games are perfect for you and unlike the other trivia apps, this one runs 24/7 so you never have to worry about missing a game!

  • CHIME banking (reference link gives you and I both $50 when you join Chime and receive a payroll direct deposit of $200+ in the first 45 days of opening an account. Chime allows you to bank anywhere, making it easy to round up purchases or move 10% of each direct deposit into your savings. They give you a fee free debit card and opening an account is fee-free.
  • Panel App (reference link ) pays in giftcards. This app uses your location and sends you short surveys to ask about products or locations - it's very invasive privacy wise but pays decently in the form of giftcards. I always cash out as soon as possible. They also award points for simply having the app and opening it. It can pay a few dollars a month.
  • Dabbl is an app I recently found on a sponsored Facebook ad. You basically watch short ads and they ask what you prefer or what you like or don't like. It's very quick and simple but posts only come a few times a week. You can cashout for giftcards at $5+ and the payout for your time is good. I think Dabbl is actually fun and wish they would post more opportunities.
  • Google Opinion Rewards is an app that sends occasional surveys for small amounts of cash. The surveys are very quick and easy and you can cash out at $2+
  • Bing Search is my default search engine and they award points for clicking on news headlines or doing searches. I only earn about $5 every six months or so because they payout is really lousy, but again, it is free.

Last but not least, if you haven't heard - I am an affiliate with Barnes & Noble. Along with that comes the opportunity for me to share links about their greatest sales and how I can save you money. I am compensated if you choose to click on any affiliate links on my website but it's at no cost to you! My book One Last Breath was recently released on Barnes & Noble and if you are interested you can get it by clicking here
